Mathis AG is launching its SmartScan for the first time in China．SmartScan is said to offer an objective，simple and inexpensive method of assessing the colour fastness of samples with the help of a scanner.

SmartScan overcomes the traditional problem that quailty control assessments are subjective and therefore not reproducible；it requires little operator training and is suitable for retailers as well as manufacturers，according to Mathis,which is exhibiting in Hall E6 at Stand C3．

Mathis AG also presents an updated version of its well—established SmartLiquor dyebath monitoring system at the show．SmartLiquor is to coloration professionals what an x-ray machine is to a doctor：it provides a detailed process picture permitting the user to identify the source of problems and to derive solutions，s

SmartLiquor improvements include a redesigned integrated cell for on-line measurement of pH and conductivity and a new version for continuous and semi-continuous(Cold Pad Batch，E-Contr01)dyers．

The latter promises to eliminate the long-standing problem of tailing-end-to-end variations in fabric colour-in semi—continuous dyeing and can also be used for the quailty control of stock tank solutions(‘check-liquor’)．
